Fucoidan is a naturally occurring compound in wakame seaweed (Undaria pinnatifida). It works to protect seaweed against external stresses, including salt, wind and UV radiation. No – we do recommend that you add an SPF on top. Always apply your Rare by Nature natural skin care products first to allow the active ingredients to penetrate into the skin before applying your SPF on top as the final step.
